What is Plasma?

Plasma comprises of an ionised gas charged with equal amounts of negative and positively charged inons and negatively charged electrons.

Plasma is formed through the ionizations of these gases when it hits the atmosphere.

This innovative technology utilises plasma, formed through ionisation of the atmospheric gasses, which when applied just above the skin’s surface, stimulates an instant skin arc causing a black crust dot to form which causes a contraction, and together they cause an over all skin tightening. This technology doesn’t use scalpels or laser to remove excess loose skin. Instead, it tightens in a dot pattern, thereby avoiding all the inherent risks of traditional invasive medical procedures.

These results are achieved by the creation of precise tiny dots, made with a pen type device (Plasma pen). The Plasma pen is held approximately 0.5 to 0.7 of a millimeter from the skin. It creates an arc above the skin, which creates a tiny black crust (dot), which has the effect of stimulating an instant contraction and tightening of surface and shallow underlying skin fibres. The tiny dots fall off in 7-10 days leaving tightened, fresh & rejuvenated skin.

Uses plasma to stimulate cell regeneration, which can achieve anti-aging, enhance skin absorption, antibacterial cleansing, effective whitening and brightening, improve fine lines, increase skin elasticity, enhance facial contours and remove scars.

The cells have a membrane potential, the inner membrane is negatively charged, and the outer membrane is positively charged. As the skin ages, the distribution of charge along the film is not uniform, thereby changing the voltage of the film.
The membrane potential is affected by potassium ions and sodium ions. Potassium ions easily pass through, and it is difficult for sodium ions to change the membrane potential through the ozone plasma, so that all types of ions easily pass through the membrane and balance the potential, thereby tightening the membrane.

How long does the treatment take?

The procedure usually takes up to 90 minutes to perform, depending on the scope of the work.

What can I expect afterwards?

Plasma Lift treatments are very safe.

On rare occasions, there have been reports of hypersensitivity or allergic reactions to the local anaesthetic, wound healing problems, skin infections, scarring, slight swelling, redness, tingling, the occurrence of herpes simplex (cold sore) and skin whitening.

Straight after the procedure, the treated area will be red and have mild swelling. This can last for 1-3 days. The small carbon dots will dry, becoming small brown crusts. These small crusts need to heal naturally, they will start to fall off on their own. Under no circumstances must they be picked or scratched. If you pick or scratch the dots it can impact your healing and affect your results.

How Long does the result last？

Treatment results can last for years.

Plasma Skin Tightening is more than a simple skin tightening treatment - skin volume is actually reduced during the treatment and the dermal layers below the surface are rejuvenated so the effects last as long as they would with invasive surgery.

But it does not mean that we will stop the natural aging process. So having a treatment once every 1 or 2 years for the maintenance is recommended.

How soon can I see results?

You will more than likely see immediate results from the procedure. Sometimes redness and swelling can occur which can distort the results, but you will be able to see special results right away. You will notice more firmness and tightening of the treated areas as the skin continues to heal and produce more collagen (sometimes even 3-6 months down the line!).

How many treatments are required?

Usually only one or two treatments are required (for general skin tightening).The number of treatments required will vary according to the condition being treated, skin's laxity, the desired degree of correction and the individual’s response to the treatment. The treatment can be repeated. And the appointments must be spaced out 6-8 weeks.

· Pregnant or breast feeding

· Presence of any metal objects in the treatment site

· Allergy to topical anethetics (Lidocaine)

· Diabetes or disturbed wound healing

· History of hyperpigmentation

· Keloid scarring

· Fitzpatrick skin type 6 (darker skin is not a candidate for this treatment as this skin will hyperpigment)
